MASSIVE OIL SPILL ROCKS THE PRISTINE GAVIOTA COASTLINE

On may 19, 2015, on the Gaviota Coast, an onshore pipeline ruptured, spilling what has been estimated to be more than 100,000 gallons of oil into a culvert, which drained directly onto the beach and into the ocean. At this time, oil has spread a swath along the coastline that is estimated to be 9 miles in length. Oil spill cleanup efforts are underway.
